I was very saddend to see that Karen had passed away. We knew each other for many years. I was invited to go to Hi-C Club (high school Christian club) by Nancy Combs in Homeroom one morning, my Freshman year. We met in City Hall, so we all walked over after classes. When we arrived, Karen was there too. I did already know her, as she had been a classmate for years. We spent the rest of our high school career involved in Youth for Christ. We sang Alto together in the high school choir. One memory was that the two of us, and others, had a whistling part in performing tunes from the "King and I."
